Susanne Mueller Nelson, cultural mediator, has developed a work around the gaze, the involvement of the viewer and his or her predisposition to observe and feel the work that unfolds before his or her eyes. The exercises aim to awaken attention to detail, peripheral fields, codes and context, while encouraging subjective reflection and a readiness to “take hold of the gaze” in order to absorb the piece in a more immersive way. The workshop thus offers keys to viewing for spectators of all ages.
